Operational Restrictions:
LSVs cannot be operated on public highways where the speed limit exceeds 35 miles per hour but may cross such highways under specified conditions.
Local authorities or the Department of Transportation can restrict LSVs from certain highways for safety reasons.
Equipment Requirements:
LSVs must be equipped similarly to motor vehicles but are exempt from having bumpers, padded equipment, parking lamps, and tamper-resistant odometers.
Mufflers and exhaust systems are mandatory unless the LSV is solely electric-powered.
Headlamps must meet specific standards and be approved for highway use.
Other lighting equipment and reflex reflectors must also meet specific federal standards.
Buyer Disclosure:
